Roman legislation remained the legal system of the Byzantine (Eastern Empire) till the autumn of Constantinople in 1453. Preserved fragments of the primary legal text, often known as the Law of the Twelve Tables, courting from the 5th century B.C., contained particular provisions designed to vary the prevailing customary legislation.
The International Criminal Court (Implementation) Act and the accompanying Amendment Act were both enacted on 20 June 2002. The Implementation Act entered into drive on 1 July 2002, giving the Dutch Government a statutory basis for transferring suspects to the ICC and for cooperating with the ICC.
